Marriages UK
Civil registration of births, marriages and deaths for England and Wales began on 1st July 1837.
There were no Pullum marriages registered in 1837.
(So from an analysis point of view, there are no part years)
Although the civil registration were for England and Wales, marriages in Scotland have been included in the analysis
Sources
I have analysed the marriages in 3 sections:
Pre 1838
Results being analysed
1838 – 1997
This is a 60 year period, allowing data to abe analysed in half decade blocks.
In progress – this page exists and is partially updated
The Database will be added soon
Post 1997
29 Marriages were found over the period 1998 – 2022
In later years, not all marriages are known, so the data is incomplete (although, of course, some expected marriages were not found throughout the time period).
A brief analysis has been done.

Marriage of Edith Louise Pullum and John Brown on 24th January 1926
Marriages included in the Analysis for all time periods
The databases used include all marriages where one had person had the name Pullum recorded (on one or more entry) including a double barrelled name that included Pullum.
Therefore some of those will be women whose maiden name was not Pullum but were widowed or divorced (having previously married a Pullum) at the time of marriage.
I have also included women whose maiden name was Pullum but had another name at a subsequent marriage (in some cases the marriage was registered twice, so that one registration was as Pullum).
Repeat registrations for the same marriage, were counted as one marriage.
One marriage found was excluded, as it was the marriage of a woman who married in 1983 with the surname Pullum. However, this was her second marriage and her first marriage in 1977 was to a PULLOM.
Also included were some that had had name changes.
Horatio James Templeton Pullum
Was last recorded as using the name Pullum in 1871, when he was aged 11
On the 26th of Novemeber 1883, he married Phoebe Hawes
After he was widowed, he married Maud Jessie Stebbing on the 28th of June 1917.
His name was recorded as Horace James Templeton on both civil registration and parish records on both occasions
Ebenezer Henry Templeton Pullum
Was last recorded as using the name Pullum in 1881, when he was aged 12
He married Mary Harrison Carr on the 3rd of July 1889
His name was recorded as Henry Pullum Templeton on both civil registration and parish records on both occasions
Percy Digby Templeton Pullum
Changed his name several times as an adult
On the 1st September 1896, he married Mary Jane Abraham
His name was recorded as Percy Digby P Templeton
All 3 were brothers
Marriages in Scotland
As of January 2024, Four marriages have been found in Scotland.
In January on https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk, there were 7 results representing these 4 marriages.
The first was in 1961. Jeanette Maureen Pullum (1936 – 2013), married James Arthur Hamblin in 1955 in Essex, her place of birth. In 1960, Jeanette was living in Aberdeen (electoral roll) at an address that included multiple households, and included Andrew Stratton, whom she married in 1961 in Aberdeenshire before moving back to Essex. She died in Kent.
The next marriage did not take place until 2013, and was in Stonehaven and East Kincardine district. This was a female Pullum, who was born in Harlow, Essex in 1978. Her family had come from Hackney, although her paternal grandmother was probably of dutch descent. The groom was born in Buckhaven in Fife.
The next was the third marriage of a man Jane Karen Willoughby. She died in 2004 in Truro, Cornwall.
